Melissa Staiger is a Brooklyn based non-objective painter of American and Cherokee descent. Staiger received a BFA from Maryland Institute, College of Art and a MFA from Pratt Institute, NYC.  She is by Janet Kurnatowski Gallery, Brooklyn, NY in her Flat Files.  Her work is shown nationally across the country and she curates art exhibitions.  Staiger is strongly involved in the New York art community and is an active member of tArt, a woman’s art collective and is part of Amerinda.
